First-year and transfer students are permitted to bring their vehicles to campus if space allows. If you plan to do so, you must apply online for a UGA parking permit. Remember that parking is not guaranteed. Not all reservation requests can be fulfilled due to limited availability of parking spaces.

In Fall 2024, the situation will be exacerbated by the loss of nearly 500 spaces due to construction projects that will expand future parking, dining and housing options. 

Students are strongly encouraged to use our comprehensive Campus Transit system rather than cars. This past year, nearly half of the UGA student body chose not to request a permit and instead utilized alternative transportation methods to access campus.
